This Cinnamon Raisin French Toast with Sautéed Apples is a holiday favorite!

Cinnamon Raisin French Toast with Sauteed Apples

Friday night’s date turned into Saturday morning’s breakfast…

During our ride home from our favorite local orchard, I had the idea to turn Fuji apples into something festive for breakfast; ’twas about to be showtime for our newly acquired bounty.

I took my life-long love of cinnamon raisin French toast, combined it with my newly-acquired love of warm sautéed apples, and produced a homey breakfast fit for the French-toast-apple-loving-people that we are.

Speaking of apple-loving… so happy that Fujis were ripe for the picking. This firm yet juicy apple is a perfect choice for sautéing. Although Honeycrisp, Jonagold, Granny Smith, and Gala will do just fine, Fuji, with its crisp texture and sugary flavor is an excellent option.

Fuji apples are great for:

  • snack time
  • salads
  • pies
  • baking
  • freezing
  • and of course, sautéing
