Description
This Cinnamon Raisin French Toast with Sautéed Apples is a holiday favorite!
Ingredients

- 4 Fuji apples, peeled, cored, and diced
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/8 cup brown
- 1 tsp. lemon juice
- 8 Tbsp. of butter, divided
- 3 eggs
- ½ cup milk
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 8 slices of bread
- 1 cup pecans
Instructions
- To make the sautéed apples, combine diced apples, sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, and 4 Tbsp. butter in a frying.
- Cook apple mixture, over medium heat, for 7 – 8 minutes.
- Take apples off the heat when they are slightly softened, and when a syrup has formed.
- While the apples are cooking, prepare the French toast.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk and vanilla.
- Dip bread into the mixture and allow it to soak for 5 – 10 seconds on each side.
- Melt remaining 4 Tbsp. butter, over medium heat, in a large sauté pan.
- Place slices of bread in the pan and cook until golden brown, approximately 2 minutes per side, until golden brown.
- To serve, layer a couple pieces of French toast with the sautéed apples.
- Drizzle with warm apple syrup from the pan, and top with pecans.
