  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/8 cup brown
  • 1 tsp. lemon juice
  • 8 Tbsp. of butter, divided
  • 3 eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Instructions

  1. To make the sautéed apples, combine diced apples, sugar, brown sugar, lemon juice, and 4 Tbsp. butter in a frying.
  2. Cook apple mixture, over medium heat, for 7 – 8 minutes.
  3. Take apples off the heat when they are slightly softened, and when a syrup has formed.

  6. Dip bread into the mixture and allow it to soak for 5 – 10 seconds on each side.
  7. Melt remaining 4 Tbsp. butter, over medium heat, in a large sauté pan.
  8. Place slices of bread in the pan and cook until golden brown, approximately 2 minutes per side, until golden brown.
  9. To serve, layer a couple pieces of French toast with the sautéed apples.
  10. Drizzle with warm apple syrup from the pan, and top with pecans.
