I got to wondering recently if there is a day dedicated to all things Caprese…

We have a National Spaghetti Day, National Popcorn Day, there’s even a National Corn Chip Day, so it would stand to reason there’d be a National Caprese Day…
Surely there has to be an official day assigned for the soul purpose of celebrating the holy trinity of food: Tomatoes, Mozzarella and Basil.
Right?
Wrong!
I know! I was as shocked as you are! So I am taking it upon myself to designate this day – July 2nd – National Caprese Day, right here on Ciao Chow Bambina! Can I do that? I hope it’s allowed!
I’ve gathered a bunch of my favorite CCB Caprese recipes from over the years; everything from Caprese Grilled Cheese to Hasselback Caprese Salad, and I’m making it easy for you to choose.
With all of the summer vacations and celebrations getting underway this week – you just might need a recipe to suit your need for the taste of Italy at one or more of your gatherings!
Buon Appetito!

Have a wonderful week, my friends!
Here’s to a safe and happy 4th of July!
Cheers!

It’s definitely time to declare a national day! I’m so glad you’ve declared today the national day for caprese! Bring on those fresh tomatoes, basil and creamy mozzarella!
Let it be declared! Let it be done! Thanks, Kathy!
Caprese is such a perfect Summer treat, with beautiful tomatoes and fresh basil. And cheese, of course 🙂
Can’t think of a better trio! Thanks, Jennifer!
Wow! Cannot say that I’m not impressed. The eggplant one is my favorite. Pinning them all!
It is so hard to choose – but that is a special one!! Thanks, friend! 🙂
What a great idea, Annie! I didn’t know there as a national day for caprese…. but oh my I’m drooling over your caprese grilled cheeeese! 😀
Awesome round up Annie! I absolutely love caprese anything! My favorite though has to be the crispy caprese eggplant bruschetta! Happy 4th!
How is there no official Caprese Day? I mean it rhymes! Not to mention I’ll take any excuse to eat caprese salad. I’m starving scrolling though this post–everything looks delicious!
That’s what I said! Makes no sense! 🙂 Thanks, my dear! Have a fun week!
National Caprese Day? Love it, you brilliant lady, you! Now, which one of these yummy recipes to start with? Can’t go wrong with any of them, but that bruschetta is calling my name 😉 Have a wonderful week! XOXO
Hard to resist a good bruschetta! Thanks, doll! Have a great week! 🙂
Have a great Independence Day!! I love the idea of a National Caprese Day!! I’m with you. I made a Caprese sandwich with a twist — fried green tomatoes. But I really love the colors of the red, white, and green. And the flavors are amazing.
I thought you might like that idea! 😉 We’ll have to keep this train moving, together! YUM! I love the idea of adding fried green tomatoes to the sandwich! Happy 4th, my friend!
