Veal with Fresh Herbs & Lemon

Veal with Fresh Herbs & Lemon is as easy as it comes and takes just minutes to prepare!

These are the flavors that I dream about.

And the aromas that turn a house into a home.

Veal with Fresh Herbs & Lemon ciaochowbambina.com

I read somewhere that if you’re trying to sell your home, you want it to smell as good as it looks. Not only should it look perfect and pristine, but the aroma should make a positive impression, as well. Scents like popcorn, freshly baked cookies, and pine are a few that create a pleasing experience for the buyer. But I tell you what – if I walked into a home that smelled of sautéed veal with fresh herbs and lemon, I’d sign on the dotted line before leaving the foyer!

Are you a fan of garlic and other herbs slowly melting in hot olive oil until they become all caramel-ly and sweet? If your response is yes, then we are clearly cut from the same cloth! It really doesn’t get any better!

Here’s the deal with this recipe…there really isn’t one. Kinda-Sorta. What I mean is that you can take liberties with the measurements based on your tastes. So much of Italian cooking is a little bit of this and a splash of that…so much comes down to ‘feeling’. This is one such recipe.

Other than the veal which you’ll want pounded very thin (scallopini-style) and the olive oil, feel free to include all or some, as much or as little of:

  • garlic, thinly sliced
  • chopped basil
  • chopped flat-leaf parsley
  • fresh thyme
  • fresh rosemary
  • chili pepper
  • lemon juice

I’m thinking this veal with fresh herbs will go down as one of the tastiest dishes I’ve made in the leastiest amount of time. 😉 (Please forgive me.)

Buon Appetito!

I think veal is an underrated offering, at least I don’t see it much out there. I absolutely love this!! Veal is always so tender and mild and to sauté it with chili peppers, lemons, garlic and more… superb!! The photos are beautiful! Take care.

Oh my gosh, I probably would ask for some of the veal before I left the open house! I grew up eating veal, and now have it maybe once or twice a year when my Mom makes it. Yours looks fabulous, Annie!

Oh man, if I walked into a home that smelled like popcorn I’d be like, SOLD! 🙂 I am a popcorn obsessed though. Lol. So don’t kill me, but I don’t eat veal for personal reasons, BUT your photos are so gorgeous they are making me question my life’s decision!! I’ll tell you what, if I ever change my mind, THIS veal will be the very first veal I make, Annie!! It looks outstanding! And I’m willing to bet it smells just fabulous! 😉 If anyone could make me a veal convert, it would be you, my dear friend! <3 Cheers! xoxo

Right? The smell of freshly popped corn – forget about it! I understand your choice…these flavors work just as wonderfully with pork so you won’t have to miss out! Thanks for your kind words, dear! Cheers! xoxo

Veal is my family’s preferred meat in Italy. It is considered a “white” meat, thus, healthier than beef. In Canada is not that popular, but I can attest it is the most tender and delicious meat. I do not eat meat anymore, but if I did, this veal dish would make me happy! That smell that you’re talking about is one my favorite, too, garlic and herbs in olive oil…oh yes! And you’re so right, Italian cooking, and even baking, is all about feeling and memory.

I’ll never forget the first time I had veal – it was not until I was in college and I fell in love with it immediately! Thanks for stopping by, my friend!

Yes!! Love the smell of garlic and herbs cooking in olive oil. Confession – I even love the smell of garlic on my hands after I chop it. Weird, right?? Oh well, lol 😀 I don’t eat veal, but bet this would work wonderfully with pork too. P.S. Leastiest……so cute! Happy Monday, my friend. XOXO

Garlic on your hands? Not weird at all! Nothing like the smell of garlic…I’d wear it like perfume if I could! 😉 This recipe would be wonderful with pork and chicken cutlet, too! Thanks, my dear! Happy Monday! XOXO

I think I might just buy a home that smelled like sauteed veal and herbs, too. Fresh herbs are one of my favorite smells, just so comforting! It’s been such a long time since I’ve had veal, so this is calling my name. What a delicious dish, Annie!

Oh, YUM! It sounds so good. We love veal and it is such a special treat. Once we get home we’ll make it — right now we don’t have decent skillets where I can even make veal. Don’t want to ruin those fantastic cuts of meat.
