Are you guys dreaming about parties on the patio? Wingdings on the deck? I get to this point in winter, and it’s all I can do to keep from dreaming about summer get togethers. And although the sun and warmer weather enhance our outdoor gigs, there is no reason we can’t party like it’s 1999, right now… inside or out… because here’s the thing – with scrumptious nosh that includes anything prepared with Boursin® Cheese, we’re going to forget all about the fact that it’s still March.

Slice-and-Bake Za'atar Crackers with Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs Cheese ciaochowbambina.com

Boursin® Cheese makes six irresistible flavors – each one as tasty as the last – and they all pair beautifully with so many things: homemade crackers, crostini, bruschetta, pita, puff pastry…the options are endless! Boursin® Cheese is all about inspiring over-the-top tiny toasts! Oh man – if you follow me regularly – then you know what a fan I am of toast. And now we’re talking ‘tiny toasts’! I can hardly handle it!

This cheese has cracked the code on wow-worthy flavor. Made with a delicious blend of delicate garlic, fragrant parsley and mild chives folded into authentic Gournay Cheese, it makes my za’atar crackers proud to be in its company. These Parmigiano based crackers speckled with the Mediterranean spice flavors of za’atar make for the perfect tiny toast. Topped with fresh seasonal ingredients and coupled with a glass of your favorite wine – we’re talking party. Correction: partayyyyy!

Description

Designed to WOW your guests – these Slice-and-Bake Za’atar Crackers with Boursin® Garlic & Fine Herbs Cheese will take your celebrations to a whole new level!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 pound unsalted butter at room temperature (1 stick)
  • 4 ounces freshly grated Parmigiano-Regianno cheese (about 1 cup)
  • 2 tsp za’atar
  • 1/2 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp cracked black pepper
  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • Boursin® Garlic & Fine Herbs Cheese
  • Toppings:
  • Chopped tomatoes
  • Sliced olives
  • Red & green bell peppers, thinly sliced
  • Chopped pistachios
  • Toasted pepitas
  • Chopped dates
  • Fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream the butter for 1 minute.
  2. With the mixer on low speed, add the Parmigiano, za’atar, salt and pepper. Mix to combine.
  3. Next, add the flour. Mix until the dough is in large crumbles. About 4 minutes.
  4. If the dough is dry, add water.
  5. Place dough onto a floured surface, press it into a ball, and roll into a 9-inch log.
  6. Wrap in plastic and refrigerate for at 30 minutes or up to 4 days. (I refrigerated overnight.)
  7. Preheat oven to 350 F.
  8. Cut the log into 3/8-inch thick rounds.
  9. Place them on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake for 20 – 22 minutes, until lightly browned.
  11. Rotate the pan during baking.
  12. Cool. Set aside.
  13. In the meantime, ready the fresh toppings.
  14. Top crackers with Boursin® Cheese and toppings.
  15. Enjoy!
