This light and breezy cocktail, the Celery Mule, promises to be a refreshing addition to your summer soirées!

Have you ever had a cocktail made with celery?
After shopping the other night for kitchen accoutrement, Dom and I grabbed a quick dinner out. There were a few cocktails on the menu that caught our eye, one of which was a Celery Mule.

The last time I remember celery making this kind of impression on me was the first time I smeared it with crunchy peanut butter. (And that was a long, long, long time ago!)
I guess you could say it was time…time for celery to start pulling its water weight! 😉
This delectable Celery Mule, made with:
-
- muddled celery
- vodka
- ginger beer
- San Pellegrino sparkling water (just a splash)
- a celery stick, radish and mint leaves (for garnish)
…hits the mark! So much so, I think it may become my new summer sipper.
I never would’ve thought to make celery the star of a cocktail! So glad the restaurant did!
You know what they say, ‘Don’t knock it ’til you’ve tried it!’ And whoever ‘they’ are, certainly knew the deal!
It’s exciting to be surprised by flavor. Something about the ginger and celery combination – a little bit sweet, a little bit zingy, and a whole lot refreshing!
Summer in a copper cup!
Like my traditional Moscow Mule, this Mule contains the same base of vodka and ginger beer, but deviates with the addition of celery and a splash of San Pellegrino.

I realize many of you might be heading out for all sorts of Memorial Day merriment, but I thought I’d pop in and share this quick post. We can never have too many simple tasty cocktail recipes in our repertoire!

Wishing you a safe and relaxing Memorial Day!
And a special Thank You to all of the veterans and active service members!
Cheers!

I have never had a Moscow Mule, Annie. I’ve had celery in a Bloody Mary before but I think that’s about it in the cocktail department – until now. Putting this on my summer cocktail list to try! Looks so refreshing – perfect for the hot days ahead.
Yes! Enjoy, my friend! Cheers!
Oh my goodness, I’ve seen a celery cocktail before, but have never tried one. I love this idea tho… because I’m a celery fan! It is SO refreshing alone, but as a mule? Oh my gah!
Looks like one to try real soon! super refreshing for a hot summer day!
Hmmmm…a celery mule? Sounds so refreshing and different Annie. I would have never thought of that combination, but I’ll need to give it a try!
This is genius Annie! I love mules, and I love celery. But I’ve never had celery in any kind of cocktail. I can totally see this becoming one of my go-to summer sippers too!
This looks so delicious and refreshing. I would not have thought of celery as a star ingredient but you sold me. I dont always want a super sweet cocktail so this one hits the spot. Take care 🙂
Interesting….I do love celery and I’m so curious about this drink. It’s hard to even think how it might taste…I guess I need to make one so I know! This one will be fun to make – and to drink!
Wow, this sounds really interesting and refreshing! I have certainly never come across anything like this before – I am very excited. I love trying new things!
I’ve only had celery in a bloody Mary, so I’m totally intrigued by this!! It would have caught my eye on a restaurant menu too! I’m such a fan of mules, I’ll be adding this version to my summer lineup!
I’m with you on being wowed by celery slathered in peanut butter, and love the idea of it wowing me again as the star of a cocktail! This cocktail sounds like pure summer refreshment! Cheers!
Nope, aside from a celery cocktail garnish, I’ve never made a cocktail with celery! Bet it’s super refreshing and savoury too. Talk about unique. Cheers, my friend! Happy Monday 🙂 XOXO
I love celery! But I never would have thought to put it in a cocktail either; I can see it pairing well with ginger though. So glad other people are more creative than I am :). Have a great week, Annie!
