Thanksgiving Cider

It’s pie season in our house.

So you might be wondering why you’re looking at mugs of cider. Well….I thought I’d get a little creative with my offering today. With everybody out there selling their seasonal goodies, I had the idea to make a fancy cider drink inspired by, you guessed it, pie.

This was a kitchen adventure I won’t soon forget. Once I opened my mind to the idea of breaking down walls and crossing creative boundaries, it was like giving a mouse a cookie…the ideas for ingredients just kept rolling, as did the possible names for this warm autumnal treat.

Dom and I had some laughs trying to come up with a title for this comfort drink and when you see the ingredients, I think you’ll understand why we chose Thanksgiving Cider (which, by the way, was Dom’s idea!), however, there were a number of second place names worthy of honorable mention… So here we go –

Infused Cider with Sliced Apple…

Ciao Chow Cider…

Apple Pie Punch…

and Autumn Elixir…

Well? What do you think?  You can see why it was difficult to choose a final name with all of the cute stuff we came up with, however, we’re sticking by our Thanksgiving Cider. The combination of apple and pumpkin pie spice has us dreaming about all of the things we’re grateful for and it just warms us up inside.

This recipe is family friendly(!) but a little splash of Cranberry Vodka or Cinnamon Schnapps, for the adults, will add another layer of holiday flavor… another layer of holiday fun, if you like that kinda thing!

Okay! Okay! Are you getting as excited about the holidays as we are?!?!

Ciao!
