Simple Marinara Sauce

Description

One of the most comforting, homey, simple recipes that we can make – Simple Marinara Sauce is a dinner staple!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 large sweet onion, chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 90 oz. San Marzano Whole Peeled Tomatoes
  • 1 Tbsp. dried basil
  • 1 Tbsp. oregano
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp. freshly ground pepper
  • fresh basil (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large heavy pot heat your olive oil, onions and garlic.
  2. Sauté over low heat for about ten minutes until the onions and garlic are soft.
  3. Pour the tomatoes and their liquid in the pot and break tomatoes up with a wooden spoon.
  4. Add the herbs, salt and pepper.
  5. Simmer for 45 – 60 minutes.
  6. Top with fresh basil. Serve.
