Rosemary Spiced Cherry Spritz

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

This Rosemary Spiced Cherry Spritz is sure to keep the party going all holiday season!

Rosemary Spiced Cherry Spritz

One minute we’re carving pumpkins and roasting seeds and the next we’re listening to Johnny Mathis and Brenda Lee. It doesn’t take much to get me in the spirit of the holiday season. To spend one-sixth of the year nestled in the warmth of the season is a gift in and of itself!!

What stirs holiday merriment in me?

~ Candles reminiscent of Adirondack pines with a flicker of dancing light holding court…

~ A cozy desk, a cup of tea, stacks of holiday cards, and my favorite pen ready and waiting….

~ A tree that twinkles, wielding patience, waiting for the family to dress her up in memories and bows…

~ A holiday menu (and grocery list) that grows ever-longer by the day…

~ A signature cocktail that marks the holidays in delicious style…

Rosemary Spiced Cherry Spritz

Ahh yes – signature cocktail. This Rosemary Spiced Cherry Spritz is a real beauty!

So much flavor from so few ingredients:

    • Aperol
    • Lambrusco
    • Cherry juice or cherry soda
    • Rosemary sprigs
    • Maraschino cherries

Rosemary Spiced Cherry Spritz

I had the idea to make a holiday-inspired spritz as this summer my girls and I enjoyed our fair share of the ever-popular Aperol Spritz.

I guess you could say that a spritz is sentimental for me, so, with that, I went hunting, and discovered a cherry spritz recipe containing flavors that are wistful beyond the summer of 2019… beyond the Aperol…

As newlyweds, Lambrusco was Dom’s and my favorite wine. Of course I still enjoy my sweet reds, but thankfully my tastebuds have matured at a pace in keeping with, well, fine wine. Some things take time. 😉

Rosemary Spiced Cherry Spritz

The combination of flavors, colors and textures in this Rosemary Spiced Cherry Spritz makes for a sweet and spicy, aromatic and festive experience. It ticks all the right boxes. And can I just tell you – the way the rosemary and cherries enhance the flavor of this drink is spectacular. This garnish is not only decorative but plays quite the complementary role in the flavor department.

Rosemary Spiced Cherry Spritz

Though I normally arrive to your inbox on Thursday, I thought I’d pay you a quick visit today to wish you and yours a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving!

What stirs holiday merriment in you? I’d love to know!

Signature cocktail, indeed! This one definitely gives me all the warm and cozy vibes, Annie. As much as I love the fun in the sun right now, I look forward to all of the tree decorating and holiday vibes waiting for me back home. I might just dress up my tree while holding one of these!
