Description
This easy and delicious Cast Iron Margherita Pizza with Burrata will make pizza night the best night!
Ingredients
1 lb. dough (store-bought or homemade)
1/4 cup of olive oil
1/2 cup of pizza sauce (store-bought or homemade)
12 oz. shredded low-moisture mozzarella
1 large tomato, thinly sliced
Fresh basil leaves
4 oz. Burrata
Parmigiano-reggiano cheese, grated
Salt & black pepper
Instructions
Preheat oven to 450 F.
Heat a 12-inch skillet on the stovetop over medium heat until hot.
In the meantime, roll or stretch pizza dough into a 14-inch circle.
Once the pan is ready, remove from the stove and add a nice drizzle of olive oil. Using a paper towel, being very careful, spread the oil to cover the bottom and up the side of the pan.
Carefully transfer the dough to the pan, pressing the dough up the edge.
Spread the sauce over the dough making sure to go all the way to the edge.
Top with mozzarella and sliced tomato. Season with salt and pepper.
Brush remaining olive oil around the edge of the pizza.
Bake on the bottom rack for 12 – 15 minutes until edge is crispy and golden. Remove the pizza and turn off the oven.
Tear burrata into small chunks and place all over the top.
Place back in the oven for about a minute for the burrata to melt.
Remove and top with fresh basil, Parm, salt and pepper.
Let rest in the pan for about 5 minutes until everything sets and cuts easily.
