Description

Your Monday deserves a Baked Powdered Doughnut that is this good!

Ingredients

Scale
  • Baking spray with flour
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1½ cups sugar
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • ½ tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 extra-large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1¼ cups whole milk
  • 2 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • Seeds from 1 vanilla bean
  • 6 Tbsp. unsalted butter, melted
  • 23 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Spray 2 doughnut pans well.
  2. Into a large bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, melted butter, vanilla extract and vanilla bean seeds.
  4. Stir the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Spoon the batter into the baking pans, filling each one to just full.
  6. Bake for 15 – 17 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then tap the doughnuts out onto a cooling rack.
  8. For the topping, place the melted butter in a medium sized bowl, and 2 – 3 cups powdered sugar in a gallon sized zip lock bag.
  9. Dip each doughnut first in the butter, then one at a time, place them in the zip lock bag. Give a gentle but thorough shake, until the doughnut is completely powdered.
  10. Enjoy!
