Autumn Acai Bowl with Greek Yogurt, Figs and Pomegranate

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

We are packing a punch, literally, with a snack that’ll keep you in excellent fightin’ form after you hit the gym for your daily workout.

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post written on behalf of the ADADC. The opinions and text are all mine.

I’m partnering with the American Dairy Association and Dairy Council to highlight the benefits of dairy as it pertains to sports nutrition, exercise and a healthy diet.

Did you know New York is ranked 4th nationally in dairy farming, with more than 5,000 dairy farms in the state? Whoa – that’s a lot of cows.

Did you also know that it’s ranked 1st for production of yogurt? No wonder it’s our official state snack.

Today, I have the pleasure of sharing a video from the Acres + Avenue video series called Boxing Coach. In this episode, host Jax takes Dana Chubb, a certified boxing champion to spend a day on the farm with Abbey Copenhaver, a registered dietitian and dairy farmer. Jax then brings Abbey to Rochester to spend a day at the boxing ring.

This series, produced by Dairy Management Inc., brings rural dairy farmers and young urbanites together to not only illustrate how the dairy products they love get from farm to table but also to celebrate the shared passions that unite them.

How cool is that?

By walking a mile in each other’s shoes or Mucks or boxing togs…each learns a little about the other and the interests they share.

Interests like Greek yogurt, for example…

With Greek yogurt having twice the amount of protein as most regular yogurts, it seemed a perfect choice for my Autumn Acai Bowl. We want to get protein in our muscles as quickly as we can for recovery, making this smoothie bowl a perfect post workout meal.

This combination of dairy and seasonal fresh fruit will help meet the body’s need for energy. I am all about it.

Can’t you just imagine this colorful bowl of cold fresh and bright goodness waiting for you at the end of a strenuous workout?

Oh yeahh!

This looks like a great breakfast! We are becoming a very yogurt nation. That can’t be bad!

I had NO idea NY had so many Dairy farms… I would have expected, like North Dakota or a mid-west state. Thanks for the fun fact of the day! 🙂 Very cool video, and I share the interest of Greek yogurt too! Especially when it comes is an absolutely beautiful and delicious bowl like this one! This autumn acai bowl not only looks gorgeous, but I love that it is packed with some serious (and healthy) scrumptiousness! I could honestly eat this for breakfast and lunch! Pinned! Cheers, pretty lady! XO
