Apple Pie Moonshine

Jump to Recipe·Print Recipe

You’ll be the life of the party with this Apple Pie Moonshine!

Apple Pie Moonshine

There’s something so special about that first display of pumpkins and mums set just outside the entryway of a grocery store.

It could be an 80 degree Indian summer day, but once I see the radiant glow of amber, russet and eggplant colored bouquets, I rush to create something ‘autumn-y’ using apples, squash or pumpkin. Are you that way too?

Today, it’s all about the apple. Apple cider to be exact.

I love my apple drinks…warm apple cider, Thanksgiving Cider, Appletini, and now this, Apple Pie Moonshine.

There are many apple pie moonshine recipes out there which call for apple juice, however, I thought that using apple cider would give it more of that authentic apple zip that I really love.

This moonshine is quick to make but you’ll want to let it sit for a week or more before indulging. This will allow the apple-cinnamon flavor to fully develop.

Apple Pie Moonshine

To begin you’ll add apple cider and sugar to a large pot and bring to a boil. Make sure the sugar completely dissolves before turning off the heat.

Next, remove pot from the burner and let cool completely.

Add in the grain alcohol and stir.

Next, prepare sterile mason jars by adding 2 – 3 cinnamon sticks to each.

Next, pour your apple moonshine through a cheesecloth into a large bowl then fill each jar to just below the rim.

Add lids.

Lastly, let sit in the refrigerator or a cool dark room until you’re ready to share.

Apple Pie Moonshine

Apple Pie Moonshine makes a really nice DIY project if you’re looking for something pretty and autumn-themed to give as a hostess gift, birthday present or holiday treat.

This looks so fun to make! I’ve never made my own moonshine but I made limoncello years ago and it was amazing. I’m totally making this to give as gifts this year! loooooove it 🙂
